The judge had earlier this year refused to allow Durkin to consolidate a number of the subsidiaries related to the bankrupt companies, which frustrated the trustee's efforts to exercise control over them. The judge had said the trustee could return and re-ask for control, but he had to do it one entity at a time. That is what the trustee has now done. Winning the motion to take control of Pangea, despite vigorous opposition from Bergstein and his former business partner Ronald Tutor, is now likely to be the first in a series of efforts to control all of the related assets. The judge said in making his ruling that it was clear Bergstein could not be trusted. This means Durkin can immediately run Pangea, which he has said he will put into bankruptcy. The judge left it up to Durkin to decide if it would be put into voluntary bankruptcy and whether that would be a Chapter 11 reorganization or a Chapter 7 filing, which would put it out of business completely. It also means Durkin has the right to all records related to Pangea, including correspondence among attorneys who have represented the company and Bergstein in the matter. Many of those communications have been kept under cover because of attorney-client privilege until now. An attorney for Tutor is said to have the Pangea records, which until now he has refused to turn over to the trustee. Tutor had said if Bergstein were removed as manager of Pangea, which is now the case, that he would sue for $2.5 million. That apparently relates to the amount of a loan held by a bank relating to the movie Father of Invention. Tutor apparently guaranteed that much of the cost of making and releasing that movie. The movie, starring Kevin Spacey, was released direct to video in October. The judge noted that threat and said in court that under bankruptcy law, Tutor would have no right to file such a suit now that he has issued a formal order placing Pangea under Durkin's control. This does not affect the judge's earlier ruling by which Aramid Entertainment Fund and other creditors are preparing their own plan for how to reorganize these businesses. That proposal is still due by Jan. 2. What this does do is strengthen Durkin's position as the trustee and allow him to move forward on tracking down millions in missing assets. Kate is really good-natured (or perhaps is it self-effacing?) that they allows Martin and Izzy shack up at her place, despite the fact that she gets a crush on Martin herself. When Leonard (Rickman), finally comes lower in the mountaintop to blind mere mortals together with his brilliance, poor Kate becomes his first victim. Pouncing around the first type of her story, he dismisses Kate's alter-ego narrator as "an over-educated, completely unskilled, sexually insufficient girl that has wealthy parents who offer her everything and that has absolutely nothing to say." Leonard's savage critiques are redeemed by his wit, by the passionate regard permanently writing that prompts his cruelty. So when he finally reads something which shows genuine talent, he's generous together with his praise. The issue here would be that the audience isn't made aware of any actual work created by Leonard's students, making his clever pronouncements seem facile and the sage experience appear shallow. The main one-sidedness of those blind literary discussions also deprives another figures from making genuine contributions that belongs to them. But when Rebeck is not really thinking about a significant literary exchange from a smart old statesmen and the promising apprentices, she's entirely devoted to going through the teacher-pupil and pupil-pupil sexual dynamics of non-public educational coffee pods like that one. De rigueur opening text scroll informs that some years from now, mankind has fought and lost the "Hell Wars" against the armies of Hades and their diabolical leader, Count Draculon (Adam Brooks). Seemingly killed in one of the latest skirmishes, our nameless hero wakes up transformed by Dr. Scorpius (Brooks again) into a half-man, half-machine manborg. As such, he is expected to fight in the "Terroropticon," battling monsters alongside fellow captives, including stoic martial-arts warrior No. 1 Man (Ludwig Lee, given a particularly ludicrous dubbed voice by Kyle Hebert), inevitable tough chick Mina (Meredith Sweeney), and her perpetually pissed-off brother, Justice (Conor Sweeney, sporting an exaggerated Aussie accent in presumed honor of the "Mad Max" series). Several gladiator-type challenges and one training montage later, the protags of course set their sights on destroying the all-powerful count himself, as well as his henchpersons: the Baron (Jeremy Gillespie), a skull-faced baddie who often pauses to pitch bashful woo at Mina, and sexy dragon lady Shadow Mega (Andrea Karr).
